Approach & experience

A builder’s judgment, on the owner’s side

Development is a long chain of decisions. We help you make the early ones well and keep the later ones honest.

The project life cycle

From idea to closing

Boyd Building & Development works across the full life of a project. Bring us in at any stage, for a single task or the whole project.

Feasibility

Pro formas, program testing, master schedules, and site and zoning due diligence before money is committed.

Entitlement

A mapped path through applications, staff coordination, hearings, and conditions of approval.

Financing

Sources and uses, capital stack strategy, lender packages, and investor materials.

Construction

Bidding and buyout, project scheduling, and owner’s representation: draws, change orders, and OAC meetings.

Sale

Pricing and absorption, broker selection, condo map and DRE coordination, and closeout.

Experience

End-to-end experience across San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties

With over a decade in homebuilding and development and more than two decades in construction management, Cam Boyd has worked across San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties on the full life of residential and mixed-use projects: land and feasibility, entitlements, design and consultant teams, budgets and schedules, construction financing and investor capital, construction oversight, and sales.

Most recently, Cam served as Chief Executive Officer of Coastal Community Builders, a Central Coast homebuilder and developer, through October 2026.

“We tell you what the record and the numbers say, including the parts that are not good news.”

  • We work for the owner; our fees do not depend on approvals, loans, or sales.
  • We never contact lenders, contractors, brokers, or investors on your behalf without your approval.
  • Cam Boyd leads every engagement personally.
  • We are advisors, not lenders, brokers, or broker-dealers.

Let’s talk about your project.
